African Film Cycle 

L’Elèctrica Ateneu Popular in Palma de Mallorca presents a curated African film cycle taking place on alternating Sundays throughout spring 2026. This cultural programme brings together a selection of influential films from across the African continent, offering a very special cinematic journey.

The series opens on April 12 with a presentation of the cycle and a screening of La petite vendeuse du Soleil (1998) by Djibril Diop Mambéty. The programme continues with Teza (2008) by Haile Gerima on April 26, Touki Bouki (1973) on May 10, Taht el shajara (2022) on May 24, Moolaadé (2004) on June 7, and Sira (2023) on June 21. Each session highlights different perspectives, cultures and narratives, creating a diverse and thought-provoking film selection.
