Art in Alaró – Tempus 

Galeria Natalia Bento Art Contemporani presents Tempus, a group exhibition featuring works by Joan Costa, Oscar Bento, Borja Barrajón and James Lambourne. Opening on Friday, 9 October at 19:00, the exhibition brings four distinct artistic practices together for a new presentation of Art in Alaró, remaining on view until 14 November 2026.

The title Tempus — Latin for “time” — provides the connecting thread between the four artists. The works shown in the exhibition move across different materials and forms, including sculpture and more abstract approaches, creating a dialogue around transformation, material, form and the passing of time.

Mallorcan artist Joan Costa has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning sculpture, painting, photography and installation, with nature and the relationship between humans and their environment recurring throughout his work. James Lambourne, a British artist long connected to Mallorca, is also known for a practice that moves between painting and sculpture. Both artists have previously appeared within Alaró’s wider contemporary art programme. 

They are joined in Tempus by Oscar Bento and Borja Barrajón, adding further perspectives to the four-person exhibition. Rather than focusing on a single medium or visual language, the show brings the artists together around a shared theme, allowing their individual approaches to sit alongside one another.

Galeria Natalia Bento has become one of the established spaces for contemporary Art in Alaró, presenting exhibitions alongside concerts, workshops and other cultural events throughout the year. The gallery also participates in the town’s broader art scene, including Alart, which brings contemporary art into galleries, public spaces and other locations around Alaró. 

For those following Art Events Mallorca outside Palma, Tempus offers another reason to look towards Alaró and its growing creative community. The exhibition opens at 19:00 on 9 October and continues for just over a month, closing on 14 November.
