Cine y Cena Palma: Chefs(in)

Terreno Barrio Hotel hosts the third edition of Cine y Cena on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 19:00, combining cinema and gastronomy in Palma’s El Terreno neighbourhood. This edition features a screening of The Hundred-Foot Journey (Un viaje de diez metros), followed by a special tasting menu inspired by the film.

Organised by Chefs(in), the evening explores the connection between food and storytelling through a collaboration between two Mallorca-based chefs: Ahlam Bahri of Yumee Mallorca and Gabriel Conti of Destape Palma.

The film tells the story of Hassan Kadam, a talented young Indian chef whose family opens a restaurant directly opposite an established French restaurant run by Madame Mallory. What begins as a culinary rivalry gradually develops into a story about cultural exchange, ambition and the shared language of food.

For this edition of Cine y Cena, the film’s central theme becomes the inspiration for a four-hands tasting menu created by Bahri and Conti. Their collaboration brings together two culinary perspectives, reflecting the contrasts and connections between the cuisines portrayed on screen.

The evening begins with the film screening at Sala Terreno. Afterwards, guests move to the dining experience just ten metres away, where the two chefs present their specially designed menu.

Cocktail creator Borja Triñanes also contributes to the evening with an original drink inspired by the film’s characters and the meeting of Indian and French culinary traditions.

Among Food Events Mallorca, Cine y Cena offers an interesting combination of independent cinema and contemporary cooking, with each edition built around a different film and its gastronomic possibilities.

The format also brings together local chefs and hospitality professionals, creating collaborations that extend beyond a conventional restaurant dinner. For this November edition, the focus is on the relationship between two neighbouring kitchens and the cultural influences that shape their food.
