Exhibition Palma: Adam Taylor & Patrick Van Riemsdijk
Gallery RED

Description
Gallery RED brings together British artist Adam Taylor and Dutch artist Patrick Van Riemsdijk for a new Exhibition Palma, opening on Friday, 9 October from 19:00 to 22:00 at the gallery’s Plaza Chopin headquarters. The joint presentation places two contemporary abstract practices side by side, with RSVP required for the opening.
Adam Taylor is a British contemporary painter known for abstract, minimalist compositions that draw heavily on landscape and the natural environment. Working predominantly in oils, Taylor often uses grids and a deliberately restricted palette, creating paintings in which structured geometry meets looser, gestural marks. He graduated in Fine Art from Cardiff School of Art in 2004 and was selected by artist Sean Scully for a group exhibition at Flowers Gallery in London in 2022. Adam Taylor
Taylor already has an established relationship with Gallery RED. His previous exhibitions in Palma include The Grid in 2024 and What If in 2025, while the gallery currently lists him among the emerging artists in its international programme. Gallery REDHOME
Patrick Van Riemsdijk approaches abstraction from a more intuitive direction. Born in Utrecht in 1986 into a family of artists, his paintings develop gradually through layers of colour, texture and experimentation rather than from a predetermined composition. His work is influenced by Japanese aesthetics and ideas of simplicity and contemplation, while his time living and working in Mallorca also became an important influence on his visual language. Together, the two artists make for an interesting pairing: Taylor’s restrained structures and landscape-inspired compositions sit alongside Van Riemsdijk’s more tactile, instinctive approach to colour and gesture. The exhibition adds another international collaboration to the programme of Art Events Mallorca this autumn.
