House Music Palma – Funktion with Mati Astroza

Sótano Club welcomes Funktion on Friday, 9 October, with Argentine DJ and producer Mati Astroza taking over the basement at Plaça Gomila from 23:30. The night brings a rising name from the international underground circuit to House Music Palma, with further artists still to be announced on the lineup. 

Based in Buenos Aires, Mati Astroza has been building momentum through a run of releases focused on groove-driven house and minimal/deep tech. His catalogue includes music on You&Me Records, Revival New York, Three Six Zero, WYLD, MicroHertz and Factory 93 Records, placing him firmly within the new generation of South American house producers reaching international dance floors. 

His productions have received support from DJs including Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Josh Baker, East End Dubs, Franky Rizardo and Sidney Charles. Recent releases include Underground Sound on Revival New York, Senses on Factory 93 Records and Something For Ya on Tape Noise, while his 2025 track Once Again Back appeared on TSZR. 

Astroza’s sound leans towards stripped-back, groove-heavy house: driving basslines, tight percussion and distinctive synths rather than oversized melodic moments. That approach makes him a natural fit for Funktion and the more underground side of House Music Palma.

The venue adds to the atmosphere. Sótano Club sits below Plaça Gomila and has established itself around house, minimal and underground electronic programming, with its basement setting keeping the focus firmly on the dance floor. The 9 October date continues Funktion’s run of Music Events Mallorca with an international guest at the centre of the night. 

Mati Astroza is the confirmed headliner on the current artwork, accompanied by “& More”, meaning additional names are expected but have not yet been announced. The event starts at 23:30; no official finishing time is shown on the published poster, so it is best listed as running from 23:30 until late.
